Since your partner passed into the next life, anticipating the holidays without him or her can be upsetting and painful. It can help if instead of just dreading the Christmas season or Christmas day, you make plans.
Take care of yourself on physical, emotional and spiritual levels. Do not feel obligated to send cards or do other things you’ve done in the past. Tell people what you can and cannot do and what you need. You may find comfort in the usual family rituals or you may need to do something completely different this year. Your family and friends want to support you. Let them know your wishes and needs.
